First of all, I’d like to extend to you a very warm welcome from Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is looking forward to his visit to China and his meeting with you. My visit is mainly in preparation for the summit.
As you and President Putin instructed, we are drafting proposals on all areas of our cooperation in a bid to further consolidate interaction in politics, the economy and the humanitarian sphere.
This year marks 15 years since Russia and China signed the Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Friendly Cooperation. It is a good reason to comprehensively revise our plans and outline specific steps for the future.
We have struck massive economic agreements, and we want to do our best to advance their practical implementation ahead of President Putin’s visit. As for the cultural sphere, the Years of Russian and Chinese Media are successfully taking place at the moment. Of course, we closely cooperate in international affairs where our interaction is a crucial stabilising factor.
